WASPS Out of School Club

A warm and safe environment where children aged 3 to 12 learn, grow and have fun!

 

 

WASPS Out of School Club has been operating in the Community Centre since December 2006 and has grown considerably during this time.  We introduced the Breakfast Club in September 2008 and numbers tripled since then. We now take children to and from clubs after school (staff ratio permitting), collect from various schools (Roger de Clare, St Thomas of Canterbury, Jenyns and Ralph Sadleir), take children to SPINS and collect from nursery at 3.10pm.

 

AFTER SCHOOL CLUB

We are open from 3.10pm to 6.15pm Monday to Friday (term time only).  Children are collected from their schools at 3.15pm or 3.30pm (3.10pm for nursery children) and escorted to the Community Centre main hall by either a walking bus or by car.  They are provided with a light tea at 4.30pm.  Daily activities include Arts and Crafts, Board Games and Card Games, Construction Toys, Role Play and Dressing Up, Face painting, PS2, Wii and Gameboys, Computers, Cooking, Indoor and Outdoor Sports, Chill Out/Reading Area, Occasional visitors and outings and trips to the park.

 

Prices are £10 from 3.15-5.15pm and £15 from 3.15-6.15pm if booked in advance.  Slightly higher charges apply for children on an occasional basis where less than one weeks notice is given.  We charge extra to collect children from schools via car, collecting and taking to after school activities e.g. Starlight, Football, Netball, Beavers, Cubs and Sportzone.

 

BREAKFAST CLUB

We are open from 07.45am to 08.30am Monday to Friday (term time only).  Children will be offered breakfast before 08.15am and then taken to their respective schools for registration.  If needed we also take children to end of term church services.  We play lots of team games to ensure children arrive at school full of energy!  Children also catch up with friends or homework. Prices are £5 per child per session booked in advance.

 

PLAY SCHEME

We will be running a play scheme with the Extended Schools Co-ordinator at the Community Centre this year for the following dates:

 

Monday 26th July to Friday 6th August and Monday 25th October to Friday 29th October.  We will be open from 08.00am to 5.30pm each day.  Details will be sent to all schools in the area via children’s book bags or a booking form can be collected from WASPS.  All bookings and payments will be made through WASPS.
